About My Comedy Report

Toronto has always been a comedy destination. It has brought the world some of its best loved comedians and continues to be a proving ground for many of Canada’s comedy success stories. Yet, comedy in Toronto has a promotion problem.

Since I’ve made comedy my profession, it’s very important to me that it’s well supported. Lately, column inches dedicated to comedy in Toronto are dwindling, and it’s becoming harder to get good comedy recommendations.

That’s why I decided to create My Comedy Report. People always ask me for recommendations, and I know some of the biggest comedy fans in Toronto. It only seemed natural to give back to the community by setting up a place where performers and comedy fans could meet. A place where the recommendations and listings are curated by people who love this community and love comedy.

Welcome to My Comedy Report. We are ramping up, so if you have a listing you’d like to share with us, send us a tip using the button at the top of this page. If you would like to contribute writing to us, use our contact form.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be bringing you book reviews, album reviews, comedy podcast recommendations, show previews and more. We want to get people as excited about the Toronto comedy scene as we are.

If you like our site, tell a friend and sign up for our newsletter. (We have some surprises in store for people who do.)

We’re happy you’ve chosen to check out our site. We hope you love Toronto comedy as much as we do.

Thank you,

Ian Atlas

My Comedy Report launched January 4th 2017 in Toronto, with the simple objective of trying to help comedy fans and audiences connect with performers and programming that they will absolutely adore

At a time when more and more traditional media platforms are needing to cut staff and coverage, we’re working to try and help fill the gap and celebrate exceptional comedians and their projects

So whether you’re looking for a live event to attend this weekend, or a new show to try online, we’re going to try and point you in the right direction

We’ll be continuing to add more content on a regular basis, and one way you can stay in the loop is to join our newsletter.

If you like what we’re trying to do, you can follow us via our assorted social media platforms, and share us with your friends

PS. Also, this launch would not be possible without the tireless (and appreciated) efforts of Karen Geier, and Alannah Graham
